How Is the Points Rummy Score Calculated?

You can have a maximum of 80 points in a game of points rummy. The basis for calculating the points is as follows:

Ace, King, Queen, and Jack are the only face cards that have a point value of 10.

All of the numbered cards, from 2 to 10, have points at their face value. The cards with the numbers 2 and 7, for instance, have 2 and 7 points, respectively.

The wild card and the printed Joker get no points.

Making Amount Won and Winning Player's Score Calculations

The first player to make a legitimate statement is the winner, and they receive a score of 0. The following formula is used to determine the winner's winnings:
(Total Points Scored by All Opponents) x (Points Scored in Rupees) = Winnings.

Calculating the score of the losing player

When a player makes a valid statement, the ungrouped points of the losing players' cards are calculated. For instance, if a losing player has the Ace of hearts, 7 of spades, and 9 of spades as their three ungrouped cards, they will receive a penalty of 7+10+9 = 26 points.

The point values of all the cards a player have in hand will be tallied to determine the penalty points if they haven't made a pure sequence.

If a player makes one, the penalty points are calculated by adding the point values of only the ungrouped cards. Furthermore, sets are not counted until a player has at least two sequences, one of which is a pure sequence. As a result, if a player creates a pure sequence and a set but no further sequences, the value of his ungrouped cards, including any sets, will be added to calculate penalty points.

The total amount of points that can be gathered is limited to 80. Even if the calculated score is greater than 80 points, the maximum points total for each player can only be 80 points.
